What's In A Name?
Welcome to Evolution Point’s e-newsletter, evolve. In our last newsletter, we promised that we would document our 12 month journey in delivering our latest project, the MobileAppEx tradeshow and conference. Unfortunately, events have gotten in the way of developing a regular newsletter because the show has grown and changed so much that it has become difficult to keep up – even for us!
Regardless, we would like to keep you abreast of what some of the marketing strategies that we have developed for MobileAppEx. We do this to provide you an insight to our thought processes. In case you have joined us in the middle of the series, you can revisit our previous introduction newsletter here. It would be of interest for you to understand our partnership with Koelnmesse, the organizer of MobileAppEx. You can read about it in our blog. It gives you an understanding of how we view partnerships should work, and how much we have invested in this project.
Logo and Identity System Development
Our initial goal is to find a name for this new B2B trade show and conference. We have written up a concise case study on how we came up with the name “MobileAppEx”. You can read the case study here. The case study includes the other names that we have proposed accompanied by its rationale. It also includes other logo designs for the MobileAppEx which are rejected by the client.
Call for Papers
MobileAppEx has recently announced its “call for papers”. This provides anyone an opportunity to speak in the conference about mobile application usage and/or development. There are two main track agenda for the conference: one for developers/providers of mobile technology; the other for business owners, operators and executives who want to understand how mobile technology can be used in all businesses at every level. If you feel that you can contribute to the audience at large, feel free to submit your ideas. More information can be found here.
MobileAppEx moves to McCormick Place
A few weeks ago, it has been announced that the event has moved from Navy Pier to McCormick Place. This represents a major move for us. This move coincides with a partnership with Connected World Magazine. This partnership makes sense since the goals of Connected World is symbiotic with MobileAppEx. Connected World is a magazine for upwardly mobile professionals interested in staying ahead of emerging technologies, trends, and business. More information about the partnership and co-location can be found here.
What we did last month
We are looking for beta-testers for our new iPhone app that we have developed for the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) of Illinois. This iPhone app is specifically for goroo, the multi-modal trip planner that the RTA has developed for Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) trains, CTA buses, Metra and Pace. If you are interested in knowing what the iPhone mobile application does, and how it can help you with using public transportation a lot earlier, you can see here.
If you are interested in being a beta-tested, send an email to support@evolutionpoint.com and let us know that you want to be a beta-tester for the goroo iPhone mobile application. We will be submitting the application to Apple for distribution before the end of the year.
