Website Design Rationale

When Evo started took over the Drive Less Live More website, we quickly realized that the website lacked focus and a direct call to action. The purpose and  messaging of the website was also unclear. These issues are compounded by the amount of information that was hosted by the website. A quick audit of the website and traffic usage patterns revealed that users are getting lost when navigating for information.

We re-focused the website to be less about transportation and more about a lifestyle of choice. We introduced the tagline, "Changes for a Healthier Lifestyle" and sorted the content into three main call to actions - THINK, MOVE and PLAY - to align with the messaging. THINK - education about healthier lifestyles; MOVE - ways of finding alternative transportation; PLAY - events and activities to promote a healthier lifestyle.

To design for the new information architecture, Evo utilizes AJAX and other Web 2.0 best practices. This new user interface design allows information to be displayed only when requested by the user, making the website less cluttered and friendlier.
