When Sterigenics, Inc. approached Evo to work on their website, their online presence was far below any of their competitor’s. Their search engine ranking was over the 70th listing in Google when a user did a search for “medical device sterilization”. The challenge for Evo was to promote Sterigenics website to be better than their competitors using search engine marketing (SEM) techniques.
The solution seemed rather obvious at first –
To raise the ranking of their URL in Google.
On discovery, Sterigenics had a much wider
portfolio of services than just sterilization of
medical devices. They also provide services
to different countries around the world,
including the UK, Belgium, Netherlands,
Germany, France, and Thailand. Hence the
challenge was not only to raise their ranking,
but also to determine their potential client’s
search behavior and raise the ranking of their URL in all countries that they participated in. For some companies, this task would be daunting, but not for Evo, who has a formalized process in place for Search Engine Marketing (SEM).
During our time of engagement with Sterigenics, we raised the ranking of the websites to top 5 on Google when searching for “medical device sterilization”. Our engagement with Sterigenics ended in early 2005 when a change in marketing personnel occurred. Since then, the ranking has dropped tremendously.
